Adventure Travelers

If you are going on self-organized trip, including; trekking, mountaineering, climbing, biking, canoeing, scuba diving, etc., you may be exposed to additional health risks. This type of excursion usually involves traveling on foot or public transport and staying in simple cheap accommodation. For that reason you should take your own customized medical kit. Also vaccinations should be arranged with the doctor or nurse as soon as possible, ideally at least six weeks before traveling. Check if malaria is endemic in the region to be visited. Travelers are also likely to be exposed to infections and should be aware of measures to prevent illness from food and water, insects and animals and close personal contact with locals. Mosquito and other insect bites can be minimized through wearing suitable clothing, using repellents and a mosquito net. As far as diving is concerned, you may find all indispensable information at www.diving.eu.

Take with you:

Traditional medical kit (painkillers, antidiarrheal drugs, antipyretics, etc.)

           Bandages, tapes, gauze pads

           Antiseptic spray

           Burn ointment

Ointment for insect stings or a tea tree oil

           Dental repair kit
